Question: Confused and Dismayed-Chicago, IL- Hello, my granddaughter was on the phone with a few of her girlfriends and she would address them as “bitch(es) I wanted to know when did this word become so acceptable and like and honor?
Hello Confused and Dismayed, I really appreciate your question. You know I have been rather baffled over the lack of dignity that most who use and like to be called the “B” word (we’re using “B” instead of the Witch word due to we have young readers and viewers) seem to take it as something rather acceptable. You can call me old fashioned, lame or whatever, but, still the “B” word refers to a female dog, wolf, fox or otter (yes you read that correctly). This “B” word is and was considered vulgar and degrading to women of all ages.
I looked up the meaning of “b” witch informally: a difficult or unpleasant situation or a nightmare- Verb: express displeasure, grumble, complains or whines this is the actual meaning and why on earth would someone think this is a badge of honor. Confused and Dismayed and LaPazions, believe me, it’s a true double standard in life, what I mean by this is-if you are a powerful man that is focused, speak your mind-you are considered tenacious-driven. Now, if you pose the exact same standards and qualities as a woman, you are now considered the ultimate “b” and that you have attitude issues and need to find you a man.. HELLO!! NEWSFLASH- You aren’t a “B” at all you are a very well rounded, focused woman who is trailblazing a new and bolder way of life or career. Ladies, PLEASE take your power back and stop degrading yourselves and taking the power away from other women.
Confused and Dismayed, I really hope I’ve shed a little light on this topic because, I think it’s one that truly needs to be addressed and needs to be taken seriously in todays society.
We look forward to answering more of your relationship questions, lifestyle questions, dating issues and much more.
